Drink this and be happy! I have incorporated this recipe into my daily life as Ive been sneaking in some chocolate Vega protein powder (find here) and using it to refuel after my workouts. Its not only SUPER delicious, it keeps me full for at least a couple hours. It has also been husband and kid approved as well!
Just a little break down on the powerful ingredients:
Maca powder increases hormone balance and endurance (and libido ❤️) the turmeric in the Ukon tea and the goji berries both have anti-inflammatory effects and the chia seeds and hemp hearts provide the perfect amount of omega 3 which helps boost your mood. The carob and dates add the sweet and creaminess similar to chocolate milk.
Just a couple notes about the recipe:
I have used medjool dates in this recipe, they are 2-3 times the size of the regular pitted dates. So if you're going the regular route then just double the dates. You can also sweeten with any sweetener of choice, but the dates definitely add to the creaminess of the milk.
I use carob powder and carob chips in a lot of my recipes. I reaaaaally love the flavour, but you are more than welcome to use chocolate chips and cocoa/cacao powder as you wish. I'm not here to boss you around ;)
Soak medjool dates over night, or place in a bowl and cover with boiling water for 5-10 minutes.
Steep turmeric tea in almond milk for 5-10 minutes. Squeeze the bags to release all the tea into the milk.
Place everything in a blender and mix until well combined. Adjust sweetness and carob powder to liking. Enjoy!
You can make this the night before and enjoy the next day as well.
