Have you tried dry skin brushing? If not, then you really should. It takes less than 5 minutes to do, and is very cost effective. Dry skin brushing has the most amazing health benefits, and leaves you feeling revitalized! Here is a bit of a breakdown on the wellness aspect:
Your skin is the largest organ of the body, and one of its main functions is the excretion of waste products. Did you know your body excretes 1/3 of your body's toxins through your skin? So do your bod a favor and help unclog its pores and help release those toxins by skin brushing! (Ill teach you how in 30 seconds).
So how does skin brushing actually effect your health? Trust me, I found it very far fetched too but once I started doing it, I felt so invigorated - like I drank a cup of coffee and went for a run. The health benefits aren't all skin deep though (pun intended) and here is why:
1. Dry brushing stimulates your lymphatic system - meaning it helps eliminate toxins from your body.
2. It helps reduce cellulite! Whoop! Stop wasting time on creams and lotions that only impacts your bank account, Simply dry brush and use a body scrub in the shower. Boom. Cellulite is gone.
3. Dry brushing helps remove dead skin cells and unclogs your pores. It in turn de-congests your skin and allows it to breath better, providing more nutrients and leaving it silky and glowing! First, purchase a non-synthetic brush. Found at health stores, organic food stores or even possibly CVS or Shoppers. Here is one that I found on Amazon that looks great and is inexpensive.
The best time to skin brush is before a shower or bath.
Sit on the edge of a bathtub or stool and begin to brush, starting at your feet.
Brush in long even strokes towards your heart. You want to promote the circulation - which begins at your heart.
Overlap each stroke 3-5 times and work your way up towards your heart. Avoid brushing too hard on sensitive areas.
The skin on your face is very delicate, so avoid brushing here.
Next, jump in the shower and use an exfoliate on the skin (my favorite recipe coming soon).
Pat dry and use a natural oil or natural lotion to give back to the skin.
Try to skin brush 2 times a day for full benefits!
