The mighty white bean (aka Navy bean, Cannellini bean, haricot bean, pea bean) has many faces and is the record holder for being most abundant plant-based source of phosphatidylserine (PH) known to man! Wow, that's a big title to hold. Do you know what phosphatidylserine is? Well I'm here to tell you! PH has been attributed to a reduction in dementia and cognitive function (aka you'll have a happy brain that remembers stuff when you get older). Whats more, is that it can also help with athletic performance by decreasing muscle damage and the effects of cortisol (a hormone released when the body is stressed out or when blood-glucose levels are low). This is amazing news for my husband who is a professional athlete and who loves my white bean hummus! Its a win for me!
